This article explores how the integration of conversational user interfaces and large language models (LLMs) can revolutionize the way we interact with product documentation. Five use cases of how LLMs can be used to query product documents are presented, including interactive product manuals, troubleshooting assistance, product feature explanations, personalized user onboarding, and comparative product analysis. A prototype was developed to demonstrate how to query product documentation, using OpenAI and LangChain. This integration of conversational UIs and LLMs offers a number of benefits, such as interactive manuals, instant troubleshooting, feature explanations, personalized user onboarding, and comparative analysis, which can significantly enhance user experience and engagement. The article concludes that while the possibilities of traditional product documentation being replaced by conversational interfaces remain to be seen, the signs certainly point in that direction.
